| PITTSBURGH -- Oft-injured Pittsburgh Penguins
goaltender Tom Barrasso will be sidelined a week to 10 days
after suffering a sprained knee in Thursday's 7-5 victory at New
Jersey.
Barrasso came up gingerly after going down to make a save. He
was replaced by Peter Skudra with 11:38 left in the first
period.
Barrasso, 34, is 0-1 with a 6.46 goals-against average and an embarrassing .731 save percentage in two games this season. In 1998-99, he was 19-16-3 with four shutouts and a 2.55 GAA, helping the Penguins reach the Eastern Conference semifinals. Skudra, 26, was scheduled to start Friday night's home opener against Colorado. He picked up Pittsburgh's first win of the season in relief on Thursday and owned a 4.62 GAA going into Friday's action. To replace Barrasso on the roster, the Penguins recalled goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. Aubin, 22, appeared in 17 games with Pittsburgh last season, going 4-3-6 with two shutouts and a 2.22 GAA.
