NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Anaheim's high-scoring line is together again, and for the second straight night the results were outstanding. The combination of Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya, and Steve Rucchin again carried the load for the Mighty Ducks on Saturday night in a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators. Kariya and Rucchin each had a pair of goals, and Selanne added an assist. "We're getting there," Kariya said of the trio, which had been broken up most of the season as the Ducks hovered around .500. "It's going to take some time, but we're starting to play better." In Friday's win over defending Stanley Cup champion Dallas, Selanne recorded a natural hat trick after going five games without a goal. "It's working great," Selanne said. "We really enjoy playing together. We have a group of guys on our line that can do almost everything." The frustration continued for Nashville, which dropped its second one-goal game in two nights. "We stayed, we fought right to the end," coach Barry Trotz said. "We were inches from tying it. That was more of the Predators' determination." Selanne and Kariya have combined for 22 goals and 28 assists. Defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky had three assists as he added his own speed to that of the top line. "Speed kills," Rucchin said. The loss was the second-year Predators' fifth straight, tying a club record set earlier this season. Kariya's second goal of the night and 11th of the season put the Ducks up 3-1 late in the second period. Mike Dunham stopped Niklas Havelid's shot from the left side, but fell over backwards after he did so. Kariya tapped the puck into the open right side. Cliff Ronning's power-play goal cut it to 3-2 at 8:52 of the third. His slap shot from the high slot beat a screened Guy Hebert. Rucchin restored the two-goal lead moments later on the rebound of Tverdovsky's shot. "That shows you how important faceoffs are, and how important Steve Rucchin is to any line because he wins faceoffs," Ducks coach Craig Hartsburg said. Ronning scored again with 32.1 seconds left to make it 4-3, but Hebert dove on a loose puck with 16 seconds remaining and Ronning's final attempt was blocked. Nashville's Scott Walker was credited with a goal that went off Tverdovsky's stick moments before Kariya's second score. Tverdovsky was involved in the game's first three scoring plays, as he assisted on both first-period Anaheim goals. Rucchin tipped his point shot past Dunham for the opening tally. Then Tverdovsky's slap shot went behind the Nashville net, from where Selanne fed Kariya at the right post to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead. The Ducks led the NHL on the power play a year ago, but are near the bottom of the league and went 0-for-3 against the Predators. Anaheim has gone three games without a power-play goal. "What a sad story that is," Selanne said. "This year, we've struggled on the power play. That's good news, because it means we can improve," general manager Pierre Gauthier said.
