Bonk line fuels Senators' win

  RECAP | BOX SCORE

KANATA, Ontario (AP) -- Radek Bonk had quite a line on Saturday night.

Bonk earned the first four-point effort of his NHL career with two goals and two assists as the Ottawa Senators beat the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 4-2.

Bonk, with linemates Marian Hossa and Magnus Arvedson, also limited Anaheim's high-powered line of Paul Kariya, Teemu Selanne and Steve Rucchin to one goal.

"They are one of the best lines in the league," Ottawa defenseman Wade Redden said of his teammates. "They work hard, have a lot of offensive and defensive talent and a nice touch around the net. They get things off their defense."

Shawn McEachern and Hossa each had a goal and an assist for the Senators, who scored on all three of their power-play chances.

"Kariya's line is tough to play against and I think (Bonk's line) got excited about playing them," Hossa said. "Everybody was pumped up. It's a big challenge taking on their top two players."

Ottawa leads the NHL with 26 points and has the league's best home record at 8-2-1.

Kariya and Jeff Neilsen scored for Anaheim.

Hossa opened the scoring on a power play, getting his 11th goal 32 seconds into the second period. Kariya countered with a shot that beat former Ducks goaltender Ron Tugnutt at 4:02.

Bonk, who leads Ottawa in scoring with nine goals and 13 assists, swept a loose puck into the open side on a power play at 5:35 to regain the lead for Ottawa. Neilsen tied it again at 7:28 of the final period.

McEachern put the Senators ahead with 6:14 left and Bonk scored from the blue line into an empty net with 55 seconds remaining.

Ottawa outshot Anaheim 40-21.

"When you rely on your goaltender, you usually get what you deserve ... a loss," Anaheim coach Craig Hartsburg said.
