EDMONTON (AP) -- Rookie Tyson Nash collected his second NHL point and the St. Louis Blues posted yet another victory over Edmonton.

Pierre Turgeon broke a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal at 19:25 of the second period and the Blues went on to a 2-1 victory over the Oilers on Friday night.

Jamal Mayers also scored for the Blues, who have won all three matchups with Edmonton this season.

Alex Selivanov had the only goal for the Oilers, who tied a team record with just 11 shots on goal -- the last shot coming just before the final buzzer, with goalie Tommy Salo on the bench for an extra skater.

"I met (Edmonton coach) Kevin (Lowe) and Dave Semenko when I was eight or nine," said Nash, a 24-year-old native of Edmonton. "We shot a commercial for Franklin's Pizza. I still have it on tape.

"I can't believe he was yelling at me. I thought we were buddies."

Lowe couldn't contain his frustration during a stoppage following a brief skirmish in front of the benches in the third period. He made some comments to Nash as he skated to the bench.

"I don't know what he said," said Nash. "It's all heat-of-the-moment stuff. He's an intense guy."

Lowe said he recalled the commercial, but "I don't remember him."

"I remember him in Kamloops (with the Blazers of the Western Hockey League)," Lowe added. "He's a feisty guy. I like the way he plays."

Nash credited teammate Kelly Chase with changing the flow of the game with a fight against defenseman Sean Brown at 14:05 of the second period.

"The guys are a little flat," said Nash. "We have to go out and change the momentum.

"I've got to keep doing it. Otherwise I'll have a ticket in the morning, back to the minors."

Nash spent his first four professional seasons in the minors after being selected 247th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1994 NHL entry draft.

The Blues have been superb defensively against the Oilers, holding them to 55 shots in three games.

Mayers scored his first goal of the season when he redirected a pass by defenseman Todd Reirden at 18:34 of the second period to tie the game 1-1.

Turgeon capitalized on an Oiler blunder for the winning goal on a power play 51 seconds after Mayers's goal when he intercepted defenseman Roman Hamrlik's attempted clearing pass and shot quickly from the faceoff circle.

Selivanov scored at 15:19 of the first period when he redirected a pass by Weight.

"We had a couple of bad power plays in the second period," Lowe said. "We just weren't sharp."
