LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It took a fluke goal for the Calgary Flames
to lose in overtime.
Sean O'Donnell banked in a shot at 1:42 of overtime, giving the
Los Angeles a 4-3 victory Monday night.

The Flames, 10-4-6 this season in the extra session, have
already broken the NHL record for overtime wins in a season.
"If you were a Las Vegas bettor and saw us and the Calgary
Flames going into overtime, you wouldn't have bet on us," coach
Andy Murray said of the Kings, 1-3-7 in overtime.
Fred Brathwaite made 39 saves for the Flames, but was victimized
by O'Donnell's strange goal.
Ziggy Palffy passed the puck from behind the net into the slot,
and O'Donnell's wrist shot deflected off the skate of Calgary's
Clarke Wilm and into the net. The goal was the second of the season
for the Kings defensman.
"I feel bad for poor Freddie. He played a great game for
them," O'Donnell said. "I was able to get into the slot and Ziggy
made a good pass. I was going low to the stick side. The stick
broke on the shot, but it was a nice bounce for us."
Robitaille's sixth multiple-goal game this season increased his
career scoring total to 545 goals, passing Maurice Richard for 18th
place on the career list.
Robitaille, who also assisted on Palffy's goal, moved into a tie
with Mike Bossy for 35th place on the point-scoring list at 1,126.
Palffy had three assists and Jozef Stumpel, who failed to score
for the first time in six games, also assisted on three goals.
Jarome Iginla scored twice and Phil Housley also scored for the
Flames, who have lost six straight road games.
"It's a tough way to lose a game," Iginla said. "It was
something that probably wouldn't happen again in a 100 tries. But
we battled back in a game we knew was really important and showed a
lot of grit."
Housley and Iginla scored 52 seconds apart in the third period
against Jamie Storr to tie it with 13:25 left in regulation.
Housley's 10th goal, on the power play, came on a long screened
shot. Iginla's 15th came on a deflection of a shot by Andrei
Nazarov from the left boards.
