PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins are heading into the All-Star break with a three-game winning streak and, after much consideration, Jaromir Jagr is headed to the All-Star game. Jagr and Penguins owner Mario Lemieux left for Toronto for the weekend festivities after Thursday night's 4-2 win over the New York Islanders. Jagr, who's been bothered by a strained rib cage and a bruised thumb, said earlier in the week he might skip Sunday's game and nurse his injuries. "At first I thought I wasn't going to go," Jagr said. "But lately I've been feeling better so I decided to go and have a good time." Jagr said he felt an obligation to go after becoming the first player to get more than 1 million votes. "It's always fun," Jagr said. "You get to meet a lot of people and play with some very good players." Jean-Sebastien Aubin made 30 saves in an emergency start as the Penguins beat the Islanders. Tom Barrasso had been scheduled to start in goal but a shot bruised his hand during the morning skate and he was unable to play. Aubin sent the Islanders to their third straight loss. Aubin was especially important in the third period as the Penguins concluded the game with a lackluster effort. "We won the game and that's the most important thing right now," Aubin said. "It doesn't matter how we did it. We got the two points and that's all that matters." Tyler Wright scored 6:42 into the game for the Penguins. He has six goals in 22 games this season after scoring eight in his first 229 NHL games. Jan Hrdina made it 2-0 on a power play at 17:06 of the first period. The Islanders left Hrdina alone in front of the net and he was able to easily put in a loose puck after Roberto Luongo made the first save. Matthew Barnaby gave Pittsburgh a 3-0 lead at 2:37 of the second, beating Luongo on the stick side on a breakaway. Robert Lang got the Penguins' fourth goal on a power play at 9:11 of the second. Luongo stopped Martin Straka, but was prone on the ice and unable to stop the rebound. Lang scored his fourth goal in five games. Mike Watt scored his first goal in 21 games this season, putting a shot over Aubin's glove at 2:32 of the third period. Josh Green scored on an Islanders power play at 6:59. Aubin went to the ice to make a save and Green steered the puck around him for his seventh goal. "You have to admire our character. A lot of teams being down 4-0 going into the third period probably wouldn't have even showed up. We have nothing to be ashamed of," Islanders coach Butch Goring said. In three games against Pittsburgh this season, Luongo has allowed 17 goals.
