Who deserved the MVP?

ESPN.com

It belongs to Warner
As a Packer-Backer, I wanted No. 4 to get it, but the choice is a good one. It makes sense. If you take Kurt out of the line up, there is no more Trent Green , and the Rams are in trouble! Now if you remove Marshall Faulk, as good as he is, the Rams still hit on all eight cylinders with Trung Candidate! Do I like the choice? No. Am I happy with it? Yes.

Good Decision by the committee. ... Warner is the MVP of the Rams because without him they would go down. He is the MVP of the league because he led the top offense in the league for a third consecutive year and finished with a 14-2 season.

Faulk the man
Marshall Faulk had one of the best years any player could have and was really the catalyst for the offense. Consider this, in the close games they had it was Faulk that ran the clock out either on the ground or in the air. Meanwhile, the games that the Rams lost were by Kurt Warner's inaccuracies and interceptions (of which he had many this season).

Warner isn't even the MVP of the team. The Rams go nowhere without Marshall Faulk.
Matt Sawicki

You could plug in Bob Hope and he would still throw 36 TD's. NO Faulk -- NO MVP for Warner. NO choice of throwing to three No.1 receivers -- NO MVP for Warner. No Warner. Marshall wins the MVP.
Jared Wiskind
Charleston, S.C.

Twice is Nice
Kurt Warner is now just the sixth player in NFL history to win more than one MVP award. His win in 1999 and Marshall Faulk's MVP award last season give the Rams the last three MVP winners, and Warner may have had a chance to tie Brett Favre's record of three straight MVPs had he not missed five games in 2000 with a broken pinky finger.

Something about Brett
Brett Favre clearly edged both Warner and Faulk this season in terms of who was most valuable to their team. Many people believed Warner wasn't even MVP of his own team, let alone MVP of the NFL. Favre worked with a sub-par cast and once again proved deserving of the Most Valuable Player. Although Warner threw for over 4800 yards with track star receivers, he was picked off an incredible 22 times, clearly not up to MVP standards compared to Favre's 15 INT's. Its amazing what Favre did with receivers like Bill Schroeder and Antonio Freeman (both marginal starters) compared to Warner's all-pro worthy receivers of Bruce and Holt.

What a joke the post season awards have become. Kurt Warner gets the award with the biggest supporting cast in the league and gets to play teams like the (1-15) Carolina Panthers twice a year. Brett Favre plays in the toughest division in football with receivers that are average at best and gets five votes.

Why can't we all share?
Kurt Warner was the best single choice. But it would have been nice if he and Marshall Faulk could have shared the award.
James Stanton
Collinsville, Ill.

What was Astaire without Rogers? What was Hannah without Barbera, Abott without Costello? You get the picture. Warner and Faulk should share the MVP title. They play with single minds and share the one heartbeat that is the Rams offense. Together they have become THE standard of greatness in the NFL.

Others were deserving
Curtis Martin - MVP for his team 3 years in a row -- Without him The Jets are not in the playoffs ... that simple.
Mark Brown
Rumson, N.J.

No I do not think he should have recived it. You expect what he did with all the weapons the Rams possess. Give it to someone you whose team exceeded expectations -- such as Kordell Stewart.
Josh Clouette
Little Rock, Ark.
