Buffalo gets a chance to erase memories of the "Music City Miracle" in Week 1. The Titans are a favorite to return to the Super Bowl, and why not? With RB Eddie George pounding away at defenses, the Tennessee offense is at its best. Now QB Steve McNair (9) has home-run threat Carl Pickens (18) at receiver to spread the field. Buffalo was the number one defense in the NFL last year. Minus future Hall of Famer DE Bruce Smith, they'll still be tough. Rob Johnson takes over the reins on offense from fan favorite Doug Flutie, and will need to play well early to squelch talk of a QB controversy.

Coaching Points:

  • The Bills are strong inside with big NT Ted Washington (92) and LB Sam Cowart (56). These two plug opponents' inside running game well.
  • The Buffalo corners must be up to the challenge of the Titan receivers. Pickens (18), at 6-2, has a distinct advantage over 5-8 CB Antoine Winfield (22).
