NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Tennessee Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse ran outside Tuesday for the first time since having bone grafted onto his left foot in February.
Kearse ran for approximately 15 minutes after being cleared by doctors, and coach Jeff Fisher said that will be all the star defensive end does this week and next. "The foot felt good," Fisher said. "Conditioning-wise, the heat got to him. But he worked inside for half an hour. He's encouraged by that." The Titans hope to have Kearse ready for drills when training camp opens July 25. Whether he is limited to one practice a day will depend on how quickly he can work himself into shape on the field. Kearse broke a bone in his left foot in the season opener of 2002, and played only four games after coming back. He never felt his foot had healed, so he got more medical opinions in January that led to the second operation. |
