Clark heads to Bears after three seasons in Denver

ESPN.com news services

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Free-agent tight end Desmond Clark joined the Chicago Bears on Saturday.

Clark signed a six-year contract worth more than $12 million but precise details were not yet available, reports ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli.

Clark had two catches for 42 yards in 11 games last season for the Miami Dolphins, who signed him after he broke his wrist in training camp with the Denver Broncos and was released.

Clark played three seasons with Denver. His best year was 2001, when he set career marks with 51 receptions for 566 yards and six touchdowns.

He caught 79 passes for 910 yards and nine touchdowns overall with the Broncos.

The Bears also re-signed tight end John Davis and fullback Stanley Pritchett to one-year deals.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
