KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marvin Minnis broke a bone in his foot Friday during a non-contact drill in the team's mini-camp.

Chiefs president and general manager Carl Peterson said the second-year receiver would undergo surgery Monday, but that team doctors believe he will recover in time for the opening of training camp on July 26.

Minnis caught 33 passes for 511 yards and one touchdown in his rookie season.
