Now that Dan Marino has spurned the Minnesota Vikings' offer to be their starting quarterback, the team's preference is
to re-sign Jeff George to a one-year contract, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Monday. Marino announced his decision to retire after 17 seasons on Monday.
Mortensen reported that if George insists on
having longer-term contract with the Vikings, the team will turn to Randall Cunningham. But in
the case of Cunningham, Mortensen said the salary-cap strapped
Vikings still are insisting that Cunninghamn take a pay cut.
