"To be honest with you, it was a mistake," Marino told reporters Wednesday. "I was upset, and I know you guys have a job you have to do, and I should have been a little more professional in that situation.

"But I did it, and I have no regrets for it, but I'm sorry that I did it. It happens, I think, just because of the frustration in the game."

Marino threw three touchdown passes, but the Dolphins lost on a last-second field goal. A short time later, when asked how tough it was to watch the winning kick, Marino uncharacteristically got angry.

"These questions are ridiculous," he said. "I'll tell you how tough it is. You work your butt off all week and then you lose a game like that by three points. ... That's how tough it is. But you wouldn't know, would you?"

On Wednesday, Marino said: "There are basically the same questions, and you just get tired of them. I was wrong in doing that. It happened. It's over with. I'm sorry about it."
