| PITTSBURGH -- Jerome Bettis says he feels good and his
spirits are up, but more than his mental welfare is at question
with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

What everyone really wants to know is how his surgically
repaired left knee is.
He says it's OK, and it felt fine after he practiced on it Wednesday for the first time this week.
Bettis is expected to play Sunday night in Cleveland for the
season opner. On Wednesday, he shared snaps with backups Richard Huntley and Amos Zereoue at practice, and they will be
expected o take some of the load off Bettis.
He hasn't played in a game since gaining a season-high 139 yards
on Dec. 28 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
But he says he can do whatever is asked of him -- and says the
knee is a "full go." | |
