The only issue for the Bills is whether defensive end Kendrick Office will be able to play. Office has a wrist injury that leaves him questionable. He started last week for veteran defensive end Chidi Ahanotu. It's uncertain whether Office was able to do much in practice Friday. The Bills visit the Patriots.
Ray Lucas practiced Friday and will be the backup to Jay Fiedler for the Dolphins in Monday night's game against the Bears. Lucas suffered a neck and shoulder stinger last week and was questionable. The Dolphins removed wide receiver Cris Carter from the injury list so he will play. Defensive end Rob Burnett practiced Friday and removed any questions about his availability. He has a shoulder injury. There isn't one Dolphin expected to miss the Monday night game because of an injury.
The Patriots won't have middle linebacker Tedy Bruschi because of the knee injury in the Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions. Bruschi didn't practice this week. Ted Johnson will start for him in the 4-3 at middle linebacker. Free safety Tebucky Jones has been able to practice every day this week, but the question is whether coach Bill Belichick will put him back in the starting lineup or stay with veteran Victor Green. Jones will play, but Belichick may wait until Sunday to determine the starter. The Patriots host the Bills on Sunday.
Backup halfback LaMont Jordan didn't practice again Friday because of the bad ankle injury he suffered on the sidelines during Monday night's loss to the Raiders. Curtis Martin will have to handle all of the carries. Cornerback Aaron Beasley was so woozy because of a concussion on Thursday that he almost bumped into a wall. The Jets downgraded him to questionable, meaning that Ray Mickens will probably get the start at cornerback. If Beasley misses the game -- which is likely -- undrafted rookie Andrew Davison will be the third cornerback. Wide receiver Santana Moss did some work Friday and should be available as the third receiver. Defensive end John Abraham (foot) was removed from the injury list. Dave Szott will start at left guard. |

Cornerback Chris McAlister probably won't be able to start Sunday against the Saints, but he will play. At least that's what he says. He suffered a shoulder injury on one of the final plays of last week's game against the Bengals. Robert Tate is expected to get his second start for McAlister, who probably will be available for duty in the nickel. The only other significant injury is backup quarterback Chris Redman, who continues to recover from a back injury. Jeff Blake remains the starting quarterback.
The Bengals are doubtful that defensive end Vaughn Booker (ribs) will play. He didn't practice Friday and is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Panthers. He will be replaced by Bernard Whittington. Center Rich Braham, who has been questionable with an ankle injury, practiced Friday and should come back to the starting lineup. Backup running back Brandon Bennett, who has been out with a knee injury, practiced Friday and should be able to return.
The Browns defense is banged up heading into Sunday's crucial game in Jacksonville. Barring a miracle, defensive end Courtney Brown will be out with a knee injury. The Browns practiced Friday with Mark Word and Tyrone Rogers at defensive end. Brown had an MRI Thursday that revealed no ligament damage, but minor cartilage defects. The secondary also has concerns. Daylon McCutcheon has a broken thumb. He didn't have any contact work, but he may be used. Anthony Henry starts for him. Safety Devin Bush is questionable with a hamstring, but he wasn't starting anyway. That job went to Earl Little. Wide receiver Dennis Northcutt remains doubtful and is expected to miss the game with a knee injury. He didn't practice Friday. André Davis, a rookie, will be more playing time at wide receiver and on the return teams during Northcutt's absence. |
Halfback Jerome Bettis practiced Friday and knows that he will have pain because of a broken nose. Despite that, he plans to play Sunday's game against the Texans. There isn't any worry about further damage to the nose because Bettis will be wearing a shield. Bettis knows that the pain will be almost unbearable and he may have trouble catching his breath. The weather forecast is for the temperature to drop from the morning Sunday and become windy. The Steelers upgraded center Jeff Hartings (knee) and tackle Marvel Smith (elbow) from questionable to probable. Despite the improved status on Hartings, the Steelers are expected to start Chukky Okobi at enter. Kendall Simmons returns after missing a week with a knee injury. |

The Texans added two players to the injury report Friday. Wide receiver-returner Jermaine Lewis was added as probable with a hip injury. Receiver Atnaf Harris is questionable with a hip injury. The only Texan expected to miss Sunday's game against the Steelers is rookie safety Ramon Walker, who is questionable with an ankle injury.
Edgerrin James will start at halfback for the Colts on Sunday against the Titans. He's practiced most of the week on his sore ankle. He remains probable, but there has been no setback so he will start. The only change because of injury in the Colts lineup will be at free safety. Idrees Bashir is out with a hamstring and is expected to be replaced by Jason Doering. David Gibson is the likely starter at strong safety although coach Tony Dungy won't make that final determination until gametime. The Colts visit the Titans in a showdown for first place in the AFC South. |
Quarterback Mark Brunell took more than half of the snaps during Friday's practice and will start Sunday's game against the Browns. He has a sprain and lacerations on the middle finger of his left hand. Safety Donovin Darius didn't have any contact work this week because of a shoulder injury. He's listed as questionable, but isn't expected to play. Three other Jaguars are listed as probable and were only able to do limited work Friday. Tight end Kyle Brady (ankles), wide receiver Pat Johnson (abdomen) and linebacker T.J. Slaughter (ankle) were limited during Friday's work. It will be game time decisions whether or not they will play. Brady is more likely than Johnson, who has been out several weeks but he hopes to play. |
Defensive end Jevon Kearse got back to working with the defense Friday, increasing his chances of playing Sunday's game against the Colts. Kearse had only been doing football related drills until Friday. This was the first time in weeks he's been able to work with the defense, showing that he is making progress. There is a chance that he will play if he warms up well on Sunday morning. Kearse hasn't played since breaking his foot in the opener. Quarterback Steve McNair didn't practice Friday because of his sore ribs, but he and coach Jeff Fisher say that McNair is better than a week ago when he had to wait until game time to determine if he could play against the Giants. Wide receiver Kevin Dyson is out for this game. Safety Rich Coady practiced on the sore hamstring that has kept him out the past couple of weeks and may be available for backup duty. It will be a game time decision whether wide receiver Darrell Hill (ankle) will play. He's questionable. |

Quarterback Brian Griese (knee) and tight end Shannon Sharpe (dislocated elbow) are set to return to the starting lineups for the Broncos for their trip to the New York Jets Sunday. Griese and Sharpe have had no setbacks during the week of practice and were fine after Friday's workout. Wide receivers Ed McCaffrey (neck) and Rod Smith (hamstring) cleared up any questions by their participation in Friday's practice. Guard Dan Neil did some work Friday, but it's highly unlikely he will try to play after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last Monday. It's not known whether or not wide receiver Scottie Montgomery will try to play after suffered a neck injury last Sunday. He's listed as questionable.
The Chiefs will get a few starters back on defense. Cornerback William Bartee returns after missing a couple of games with an ankle injury. Defensive tackle Derrick Ransom will return after being out with a foot injury. He may not start, but he will definitely play. Eric Downing will probably get the start. The Chiefs are expected to bring linebacker Lew Bush back to the active roster after a four-game suspension for a dietary supplement. That move may force the Chiefs to release or place a linebacker on injured reserve. The Chiefs host the Rams.
Cornerback Charles Woodson (ankle) and safety Rod Woodson (ankle) didn't practice Friday, but don't read anything into it. Coach Bill Callahan said that all of the injured Raiders -- with the exception of defensive end Tony Bryant (neck) -- will play Sunday against the Chargeers. The Raiders list four players as questionable, including the two Woodsons. Cornerback Tory James practiced on his sore ankle. Tight end Roland Williams worked on his sore toe. Safety Derrick Gibson, who is probable with a calf injury, has been bothered by the flu but will play. |
Wide receiver Curtis Conway missed Friday's workout because of a shoulder injury and might have to miss his second straight game. Coach Marty Schottenheimer said it will be a game-time decision on Conway. Right tackle Vaughn Parker is out with an elbow injury. Sammy Williams starts for him. Cornerback Ryan McNeil has practiced most of the week with the first team despite a broken arm. He will play, but it won't be determined until Sunday whether he'll start. |

The Cowboys are reasonable healthy, even on the offensive line. Center Andre Gurode, who is questionable with a groin, should be able to play. The only Cowboy who will miss the game is right tackle Javiar Collins, who has a knee injury. Left tackle Flozell Adams will play despite an ankle injury. Cornerback Duane Hawthorne may not play because of a knee injury, but his spot has been taken by Pete Hunter. Rookie starting cornerback Derek Ross will play a little more slot to match up against the 49ers Terrell Owens.
The Giants defense is in trouble. They play the Redskins without their starting two cornerbacks Will Allen (shoulder) and Will Peterson (concussion). They will be down two linebackers -- Micheal Barrow (concussion) and Dhani Jones (ankle). Jones practiced a little bit Friday, but he remains listed as doubtful. That means that Jason Sehorn and Ralph Brown will start at cornerback and that Nick Greisen and Kevin Lewis will start at linebacker. Another linebacker, Quincy Monk, is questionable with an ankle injury but should be able to play.
Rookie Michael Lewis will start for injured Eagles strong safety Blaine Bishop, who may be available for backup duty Sunday because of his groin injury. Bishop remains listed as questionable. Former Oregon quarterback A.J. Feeley starts against the Seahawks in Seattle. Koy Detmer, recovering from his dislocated elbow, will be the team's third quarterback. Defensive end Derrick Burgess (foot) and quarterback Donovan McNabb (ankle) are out. The Eagles departed Friday for their trip to Seattle. |
The Redskins cleaned up their injury list by placing linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, defensive tackle Big Daddy Wilkinson and punter Bryan Barker on the injured reserve list earlier this week. The only questions they had is how much linebacker Jessie Armstead (knee) and defensive end Renaldo Wynn (knee) would play. Each has practiced most of the week and should be fine. They had been listed as probable. The Redskins host the Giants. |

Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher remains questionable for Monday's game against the Dolphins. Once again, Urlacher didn't practice Friday because of his neck stinger and the team is worried that playing him could cause more damage. He had trouble tackling and protecting himself last week. The team will look to Saturday's practice to see if there is any improvement. Defensive tackle Keith Traylor practiced Friday and has a chance to play. He has a calf injury, and his presence on the field gives hope that he will play against the Dolphins. At middle linebacker, the Bears will go with Bobby Howard if Urlacher can't play. The Bears removed quarterback Chris Chandler and defensive end Joe Tafoya from the injury list. Tight end John Davis didn't practice because of his back injury and will probably be replaced by John Gilmore. |
The Lions should have strong safety Brian Walker back after missing six games with a toe injury. He has practiced all week and the Lions have to decide whether or not to put him back in the starting lineup. The 10-day break from playing on Thanksgiving has given the Lions a chance to get healthy. Defensive end Jared DeVries (foot) is the only Lion expected to miss Sunday's game in Arizona. The team left for Phoenix on Friday. |
Halfback Ahman Green (knee), nose tackle Gilbert Brown (ankle) and Tyrone Williams (hamstring) did not practice Friday. Coach Mike Sherman said he will monitor their status over the next two days. Of the three, Williams is the most likely to play. By not practicing on Friday when coach Sherman had hoped, Green looks very iffy on Sunday vs. the Vikings. Wide receiver Terry Glenn was very limited in practice because of a hip injury, but should play. Defensive tackle Steve Warren played on a sore knee that limited him earlier.
The Vikings will only use halfback Moe Williams (foot) and guard David Dixon (hip) in emergency roles if needed Sunday against the Packers. Michael Bennett will handle all of the running back duties. Williams had been the short-yardage and scoring back. Dixon will be replaced by Everett Lindsay. It will be a game-time decision whether receiver D'Wayne Bates will be able to play on his sprained MCL knee injury. He's questionable. |

Halfback Warrick Dunn has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable after being able to practice the past two days despite a high ankle sprain. The surprising part about the Dunn injury is that normally the player who suffers the high ankle sprain -- particularly a running back -- usually misses the next week. Dunn hasn't even been in a boot to protect the ankle. Still, the likelihood is that T.J. Duckett could start, but Dunn will campaign to play. Remember, he left the Bucs when they didn't want to pay him feature back money. Backup cornerback Kevin Mathis was upgraded from doubtful to questionable because of his hamstring injury. That's a good thing because starting cornerback Ray Buchanan couldn't do much in practice Friday and is doubtful. Buchanan tried to do as much as he could. Juran Bolden will start for Buchanan, who has an abdominal strain and a knee injury. Defensive end Travis Hall remains doubtful but he says his foot injury is feeling better. Guard Kynan Forney practiced Friday on his hamstring injury but coach Dan Reeves said he won't play. |
Once again, it appears that the Panthers will have to play without two of their top linebackers, Dan Morgan (shoulder) and Hannibal Navies (ankle). Morgan wasn't on the practice field Friday and Navies (ankle) also couldn't do much. That means that Brian Allen starts on the outside and rookie Will Witherspoon fills in for Morgan at middle linebacker. Rodney Peete will start at quarterback even though he sat out Wednesday's practice to rest the torn tendon in his middle finger. The Panthers host the Bengals on Sunday. Dee Brown gets his second start at halfback.
The Saints won't have cornerback Dale Carter for Sunday's game against the Ravens. He wore a harness for his sprained shoulder, but couldn't do much Friday. Ken Irvin will start for him. Quarterback Aaron Brooks took most of the snaps Friday and will be able to start. He has a sprained AC joint that has him listed as questionable, but he vowed to play no matter what. Halfback Deuce McAllister continued to take most of the running back snaps in practice and will play despite a high ankle sprain. Brooks was able to throw deep passes Friday. |
Defensive tackle Anthony McFarland will make his return from a broken arm for the Bucs in their big NFC South game against the Falcons. McFarland has practiced all week and his name was removed from the injury report as early as Monday. Defensive end Ellis Wyms, who rotates with Chartric Darby, is questionable. He may not know until game time whether or not he can play. McFarland isn't 100 percent, but he plans to start. The Bucs had four other players on the injury list as probable. They practiced and they will play.

The Cardinals are expected to be down at least six starters for Sunday's game against the Lions. Wide receiver Frank Sanders won't play because of a foot injury. Cornerback Duane Starks is out with a knee injury. Renaldo Hill replaces him. Guard Pete Kendall should only be available for emergency duty and will be replaced by Raleigh Roundtree. Linebackers Rob Fredrickson (neck) and Levar Fisher (knee) are out. Center Mike Gruttadauria won't play. Receiver David Boston is on the injured reserve list. With inexperienced wide receivers, the Cardinals might have a hard time against the Lions.
The safeties for the 49ers don't look very safe. Strong safety Tony Parrish wore a brace to help him play despite a dislocated elbow. He practiced Friday and should be able to start. Free safety John Keith has a cast on a broken thumb and he will be able to play. They have to play because the team won't have safeties Zack Bronson (foot) and Ronnie Heard (ankle). Also out are halfback Kevan Barlow (knee) and linebackers Jamie Winborn (knee) and Saleem Rasheed (thigh). Left tackle Derrick Deese, listed as questionable with a high ankle sprain, practiced Friday and will be able to start. He hasn't allowed a sack in 18 games.
Starting defensive end Lamar King had his knee surgery Friday. It was a minor version of a microfracture, but not as bad as the one that prevented defensive tackle John Randle from being able to start the regular season. King will go on the injured reserve list when the Seahawks need to add a player to the roster. Anton Palepoi is expected to start for him Sunday against the Eagles. Linebacker Anthony Simmons didn't practice Friday because of a sore shin. It will be a game-time decision on whether he'll play. Wide receiver Darrell Jackson practiced in a red jersey to avoid contact because of a bruised kidney. The Seahawks will be without Floyd Womack (ankle) and backup cornerback Willie Williams (foot). |
Coach Mike Martz said that Marshall Faulk could start Sunday but he won't make that decision until game time when the Rams visit the Chiefs. Faulk has a high ankle sprain, and he might opt to go with Lamar Gordon as the starter. Kurt Warner will be inactive with his broken hand. Despite his damaged index finger and his limited work this week, Marc Bulger may back up Jamie Martin, who will start. Left tackle Orlando Pace is out probably for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury. The team probably won't activate fullback Chris Hetherington, who has a groin injury. |
