Our take on the top five backcourts in the nation:
Connecticut
Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi are as good as it gets. They shoot, they pass, they penetrate and make good decisions.

| Iowa State guard Lindsey Wilson runs the Cyclones' backcourt. |
Oklahoma
Stacey Dales is the prototype point guard with good size and range. LaNeishea Caufield is a pesky defender and a force in the open court.
Duke
Blue Devils thrive with interchangeable parts like Alana Beard, Sheana Mosch and Rometra Craig. Toss in freshman Monique Curry and they have speed to burn.
Iowa State
Losing Erica Junod to a torn ACL hurts, but Lindsey Wilson and Tracy Gahan also are terrific 3-point shooters with plenty of opportunities to score in the Cyclones' system.
Tennessee
Kara Lawson is joined by a deep roster of perimeter players. April McDivitt, Tasha Butts and freshman Loree Moore can wear down opponents.
ESPN play-by-play announcer Beth Mowins will contribute a bi-weekly women's college basketball feature throughout the season.
