Tennessee Lady Vols
RECORD: 33-4 COACH: Pat Summitt | SEASON RESULTS
OUTLOOK
Get the Coach's Edge

Let the experts at Coach's Edge get you ready for the Sweet 16 with an inside look at the Tennessee women's playbook.
  • First round: Defeated Furman, 90-38
  • Second round: Defeated Arizona, 74-70
  • Sweet 16: Defeated Virginia, 77-56
  • Elite Eight: Defeated Texas Tech, 57-44
  • Final Four: Defeated Rutgers, 64-54
  • Championship: Lost to Connecticut, 71-52

Chamique Holdsclaw might be gone, but Tennessee's "Meek link" still holds strong with the talented Tamika Catchings and tenacious Semeka Randall. However, the Lady Vols' inconsistency at the point-guard position has hindered their offense all season long. While the Lady Vols have continued to sport Pat Summitt's typically tight defense, the offense has often struggled to find its rhythm. And while Catchings and Randall have the ability to take over games (as they showed in the 72-71 victory over UConn in Storrs on Feb. 2), Tennessee has struggled a bit on the road this season (anybody recall that 27-point loss in Athens, Ga.?). Look for Kara Lawson's 3-point shooting and Michelle Snow's play in the paint to impact the Lady Vols' NCAA Tournament run. Key stat: Only La. Tech and the Lady Vols have been to all 19 NCAA Tournaments.
