Coach C. Vivian Stringer and the experienced-laden Scarlet Knights have proven all season long they have one of the nation's stingiest defenses. However, the offense has sputtered at times, and despite holding opponents to 53.5 points -- which ranks fourth in the country -- Rutgers has had problems putting points on the board and averages just 63.7 points per game. While Rutgers has risen to the occasion in marquee matchups (lost just 49-45 to UConn in mid-February), the Scarlet Knights also have struggled to get going in games against lesser-ranked opponents. Late in the regular season, things were looking up. The Scarlet Knights shot 66 percent from the field against Villanova, and they followed that with an upset of then-No. 5 Notre Dame in the Big East semis. Still, the play of senior Shawnetta Stewart and junior Tasha Pointer will dictate the Knights' postseason fate.
