STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Rashana Barnes and Kelly Mazzante each scored 23 points to lead Penn State (No. 12 ESPN/USA Today, No. 13 AP) to an 89-68 victory over Indiana on Sunday.

Penn State (12-5, 4-2 Big Ten), led by Barnes' 16 second-half points, fought off an Indiana comeback.

Jill Chapman, who spent much of the first half on the bench because of fouls, scored 17 points and brought the Hoosiers (13-4, 4-2) to 76-63 on a free throw with 4:30 remaining.

But Penn State responded with a 10-0 run, including back-to-back baskets by Mazzante.

Maren Walseth and Lisa Shepherd each scored 11 points for the Lions.

Heather Cassady scored 11 for the Hoosiers.

Mazzante scored 12 points in the first half, helping Penn State build a 37-16 halftime lead. The Lions held Indiana scoreless for nearly eight minutes as the Hoosiers shot 14 percent from the field and had 13 fouls.
