The Wildcats (14-2, 4-0 Pac-10) won their seventh in a row and matched their best record through 16 games.

Using a trapping defense, Arizona took a 12-5 lead and then used a 12-2 run over the final three minutes of the first half for a 48-34 lead.

Washington (10-4, 3-1) rallied behind six 3-pointers in the second half -- two by Loree Payne -- to cut the margin to 70-68 with 4:48 left.

But the Wildcats went on a 13-4 run in the next three minutes to end the Huskies' threat.

Elizabeth Pickney finished with 17 points for Arizona while Aimee Grzyb and Veranda James had 13 each.

Payne and Andrea Lalum paced Washington with 13 points apiece.
