Tuukkanen, Phillips lead Xavier past UMass RECAP | BOX SCORE

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Taru Tuukkanen scored 23 points and
Jennifer Phillips added 17 and a season-high seven rebounds to
lead 22nd-ranked Xavier to a 77-68 Atlantic 10
victory over Massachusetts.
Tuukkanen was 9-of-13 from the field, helping Xavier (11-2, 2-1
Atlantic 10) shoot 58 percent (28-of-48). She moved into sixth
place on the school's all-time scoring list with 681 points and
is third with 1,363 rebounds.
Reetta Piipari recorded her fifth double-double of the season
with 14 points and 10 assists for Xavier, which has won the last
four meetings to take a 6-2 lead in the all-time series.
Trailing 37-23 at halftime, Massachusetts (7-8, 2-2) got within
nine points with just over 12 minutes remaining. But Piipari
nailed back-to-back 3-pointers as the Musketeers pulled away.
Amber Sneed scored a career-high 18 points and Kathy Coyner had
14 for the Minutewomen, who shot 41.5 percent (27-of-65).
Massachusetts fell to 2-4 on the road.
