STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- LaToya Thomas scored 16 of her 20 points in the first half as 23th-ranked and unbeaten Mississippi State opened a 49-point advantage at the break and humiliated Mississippi Valley State, 106-36.

The Lady Bulldogs (9-0) shot 59.5 percent (25-of-42) and were 8-of-14 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes as they built a commanding 64-15 advantage en route to capturing the Mississippi State Classic.

Meadow Overstreet scored 26 points for Mississippi State, which finished at 55 percent (43-of-78) from the field, including 11-of-21 from beyond the arc, held a 56-38 rebounding advantage and forced the Delta Devils (3-7) into 30 turnovers.

Thomas also grabbed nine rebounds for the Bulldogs. Coach Sharon Fanning gave time to 15 players and all but two scored.

No one was in double figures for Mississippi Valley State, which lost for the third time in four games. Tiffany Pittman led the the Delta Devils with eight points and Chandra Haywood had seven points with 11 rebounds.
