DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Georgia Schweitzer scored 24 points and Peppi Browne added 15 to lead No. 19 Duke to an 83-62 victory over Virginia in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both schools. Schweitzer made 8-of-12 shots, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, as Duke (6-1, 1-0 ACC) shot 47 percent and defeated Virginia for the fifth straight time. Lauren Rice had 14 points and six rebounds and Shean Moscha added 13 and seven for the Blue Devils. Telisha Quarles scored 17 points off the bench and Schuye LaRue added 12 and seven rebounds for Virginia (3-3, 0-1), which holds a 31-12 lead in the all-time series with Duke. Schweitzer scored 13 points in the first half when Duke took a 41-23 lead. She made a jumper to cap a 7-0 burst and give the Blue Devils an 18-11 lead with 8:28 remaining. Schweitzer scored five points in Duke's 10-2 surge that pushed the margin to 31-16 with 3:59 left in the first half. Virginia failed to cut the deficit under 11 points in the second half.
