DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Missy West scored 18 points and Georgia Schweitzer added 17 to lead Duke (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) to a 101-44 victory over Elon on Thursday night. Every Blue Devil scored in game, and five finished in double figures for Duke (5-1) in its final game before its Atlantic Coast Conference opener Sunday against Virginia. A former NAIA school in its first year of NCAA Division I play, Elon (3-3) was led by Loretta Lawson's 17 points, all but two on 3-pointers. Schweitzer and West each had 10 points as Duke took a 47-22 halftime lead. Both went 2-for-3 from 3-point range in the first half, and the Blue Devils cleared their bench before the half ended. Duke took control early by converting four consecutive turnovers into baskets during a 15-2 run that made it 38-18. The Blue Devils opened the second half with a 21-3 run. Rochelle Parent added a career-high 16 points for Duke, while Sheana Mosch tied her career best with 14 and Peppi Brown added 10. Duke freshman Michele Matyasovsky left the game midway through the first half after being scratched across her left eye. She was scheduled for surgery Friday morning.
