LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Plenette Pierson scored 21 points, including a game-tying shot in regulation, as No. 17 Texas Tech beat Southern California 66-63 in overtime Monday night.
The Lady Raiders (4-0) sank 4-of-7 shots in the extra session and outscored USC (2-1), 9-6. Pierson's shot at the buzzer in regulation tied the score at 57-57. USC led through the second half but was plagued with turnovers. Texas Tech took advantage, coming within two points, 55-53. Pierson tied the score at 55-55 with 1:44 remaining. The teams traded baskets to tie the game in regulation. USC led 33-26 at the half. Pierson also grabbed 10 rebounds and Katrisa O'Neal scored 17 points for Texas Tech.
