EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Nicole Strange scored 21 points as Oregon (No. 14 ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, No. 16 AP) easily beat Virginia Tech (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, No. 21 AP) 73-53 in the championship game of the Pepsi Shootout on Saturday night.

It was the fifth-straight time host Oregon (3-0) has won the tournament. Oregon reserve forward Angelina Wolvert scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds and point guard Shaquala Williams scored 16 for the Ducks.

Sarah Hicks led Virginia Tech (2-2) with 20 points, making five 3-pointers in 12 attempts. Tere Williams, the only Hokies player named to the all-tournament team, had 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Strange, the tournament MVP, connected on her first five attempts from the field as the Ducks opened with a 16-6 lead six minutes into the game and never trailed. Oregon led by as many as 15 points going into halftime with a 36-25 lead.

The Hokies, 28-3 last season and winners of the Atlantic 10 championship, were only able to cut the lead to 10 once in the second half. After Hicks made a free throw to make the score 51-42, Oregon responded with seven unanswered points to put the game away.

Once again, Oregon's defense was dominating, holding the Hokies to 38 percent shooting while creating 24 turnovers.

Joining Strange and Tere Williams on the all-tournament team were Oregon's Jenny Mowe and Shaquala Williams, Howard's Asia Petty and Southern Utah's Sarah Pratt.
