STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Maren Walseth scored 26 points as Penn State routed Northwestern 114-49 on Sunday.

Andrea Garner added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Lions (10-2 overall, 2-0 Big Ten). Rashana Barnes had 15 points, and Helen Darling and Ashley Luke each had 13.

Tami Sears led Northwestern (3-8, 0-1) with 13 points, and Emily Butler had 10.

Penn State (No. 6 ESPN/USA Today; No. 8 AP) set a school record with 65 points in the first half and topped 100 points for the 25th time in school history. The Lions were 26-for-39 (67 percent) from the field in the first half, while the Wildcats were 11 of 33 (33 percent).

Penn State outrebounded Northwestern 58-32 -- also a school record.
