Kansas puts game away in second half

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Lynn Pride had 28 points and eight rebounds as Kansas beat Arizona State 81-65 on Sunday.

Brooks Reves added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Jayhawks (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today; No. 20 AP) Jaclyn Johnson and Suzi Raymant each had 12, and Jennifer Jackson added 11.

Natalie Tucker led the Sun Devils (7-3) with 17 points, and Kitch Kitchen had 11 points and seven assists.

Kansas (9-3) used a 19-6 run to take a 39-24 halftime lead, and never let Arizona State get closer than 10 points in the second half.

"We started right out playing with the intensity on defense and were getting into our offense," Kansas coach Marian Washington said. "We needed to establish the tempo we wanted to play at and that is what we did."
