ESPN.com

No. 1 Miami. 26, No. 13 Virginia Tech 24
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Virginia Tech's Ernest Wilford dropped a 2-point conversion pass with 6:03 remaining in the game. Wilford was wide-open, but dropped the pass that would have tied the game. Yeah, there was lots of time left, but you just sensed that Miami would not let Tech back in the game after that. The Miami defense. The 'Canes defense overwhelmed Tech QB Grant Noel, sacking him five times, intercepting four passes and forcing a fumble. Without them, the perfect season and 21-game winning streak may have ended.Miami: Rose Bowl
Virginia Tech: Gator Bowl.

No. 4 Tennessee 34, No. 2 Florida 32
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Tennessee's John Finlayson leaped high and pulled down the onside kick with just over a minute left to play. The Gators had just missed a two-point conversion, but if they recover the onside kick, a field goal would have won it. It was Finlayson's biggest grab of the season.Tennessee RB Travis Stephens. We loved the aggressive Vol defense, but Stephens was amazing. He rushed for 226 yards and two TDs and simply deflated the Gator defense.Tennessee: SEC championship game.
Florida: End of regular season

No. 10 Colorado 39, No. 3 Texas 37
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
When Colorado recovered the onside kick with 31 seconds remaining to play. The Buffs didn't want Major Applewhite -- who led the 'Horns back into the game -- to get another chance to get the ball needing just a field goal to win.Colorado's Chris Brown picked up where he left off last week. He rushed for 180 yards and three TDs as the Buffs advance to a BCS bowl. A rare second game ball award to Texas QB Major Applewhite, who relieved Chris Simms and almost pulled off the comeback.End of regular season

No. 5 Oregon 17, Oregon State 14
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Oregon's Rashad Bauman intercepted a Jonathan Smith pass deep in their own territory to end the Beavers' last gasp threat.Oregon's Keenan Howry returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown that seemed to change the momentum on a sloppy day and keep the Ducks slim Rose Bowl hopes alive.Oregon: Fiesta Bowl.
Oregon State: End of regular season.

No. 7 BYU 41, Mississippi State 38
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
BYU kicker Matt Payne kicked a 25-yard field goal as time expired to give BYU the win and keep their BCS bowl hopes on life support.Game ball and a get well soon wish to Luke Staley who ran for 149 yards on 28 carries before breaking his leg on the game's final drive.BYU: Hawaii.

No. 12 Stanford 41, San Jose State 14
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
When Stanford's Brian Allen scored the first of his two TDs late in the first quarter and set the early tone as the Cardinal scored their first win over San Jose State since 1997.Stanford's Edell Shepard caught seven passes for 107 yards, including one for a touchdown, to give him 83 receptions for the season to set a school record. Stanford: Seattle Bowl.
San Jose State: End of regular season

No. 19 Georgia 35, Houston 7
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
When the Bulldogs finally decided to start playing. A week after beating archrival Georgia Tech, Georgia took a little while to get started. Once it did, it rolled to the easy win and handed Houston its first ever 0-11 season.Normally, we'd go to David Greene for his 3 passing TDs or Verron Haynes for his 122 rushing yards, but we go with the Cougar team, that continued to play hard despite a winless season.End of regular season

Toledo 41, No. 18 Marshall 36
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Marshall QB Byron Leftwich's pass sailed through the end zone on a fourth down with 2:43 remaining. It was a rare miscue from Leftwich, who finished 32-for-52 for 420 yards.Toledo RB Chester Taylor, who finished with 188 yards and two TDs and keyed the Rockets comeback win to claim the MAC championship.End of regular season

No. 21 Fresno State 70, Utah State 21
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
When David Carr made his final walk up the ramp to the field for Senior Day. After Carr's wife and parents joined him on the field for emotional Senior Day festivities, he went out and picked apart Utah State.Even we can't screw this up -- Fresno State QB David Carr. Carr threw for six touchdowns and 432 yards. In the process, he became just the sixth college quarterback to pass for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in a season.Fresno State: Silicon Valley Bowl.

No. 24 LSU 27, No. 22 Auburn 14
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
It wasn't one play -- it was two possessions. Trailing 21-7, Auburn drove to the LSU 12 on its first possession of the second half, but Damon Duval missed a 29-yard field goal. On its next possession Auburn faked a punt but Duval's pass was intercepted. From there, LSU coasted. With all due respect to Rohan Davey, we go with LSU WR Josh Reed, who finished with 186 yards and a TD on 10 receptions, his 10th 100-yard game of the year. LSU: SEC championship game.
Auburn: End of regular season.
