| Virginia Tech's Ernest Wilford dropped a 2-point conversion pass with 6:03 remaining in the game. Wilford was wide-open, but dropped the pass that would have tied the game. Yeah, there was lots of time left, but you just sensed that Miami would not let Tech back in the game after that. |
The Miami defense. The 'Canes defense overwhelmed Tech QB Grant Noel, sacking him five times, intercepting four passes and forcing a fumble. Without them, the perfect season and 21-game winning streak may have ended. |
Miami: Rose Bowl
Virginia Tech: Gator Bowl.

| Tennessee's John Finlayson leaped high and pulled down the onside kick with just over a minute left to play. The Gators had just missed a two-point conversion, but if they recover the onside kick, a field goal would have won it. It was Finlayson's biggest grab of the season. |
Tennessee RB Travis Stephens. We loved the aggressive Vol defense, but Stephens was amazing. He rushed for 226 yards and two TDs and simply deflated the Gator defense. |
Tennessee: SEC championship game.
Florida: End of regular season

| When Colorado recovered the onside kick with 31 seconds remaining to play. The Buffs didn't want Major Applewhite -- who led the 'Horns back into the game -- to get another chance to get the ball needing just a field goal to win. |
Colorado's Chris Brown picked up where he left off last week. He rushed for 180 yards and three TDs as the Buffs advance to a BCS bowl. A rare second game ball award to Texas QB Major Applewhite, who relieved Chris Simms and almost pulled off the comeback. |

| When the Bulldogs finally decided to start playing. A week after beating archrival Georgia Tech, Georgia took a little while to get started. Once it did, it rolled to the easy win and handed Houston its first ever 0-11 season. |
Normally, we'd go to David Greene for his 3 passing TDs or Verron Haynes for his 122 rushing yards, but we go with the Cougar team, that continued to play hard despite a winless season. |

Even we can't screw this up -- Fresno State QB David Carr. Carr threw for six touchdowns and 432 yards. In the process, he became just the sixth college quarterback to pass for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in a season. |
Fresno State: Silicon Valley Bowl.

| It wasn't one play -- it was two possessions. Trailing 21-7, Auburn drove to the LSU 12 on its first possession of the second half, but Damon Duval missed a 29-yard field goal. On its next possession Auburn faked a punt but Duval's pass was intercepted. From there, LSU coasted. |
With all due respect to Rohan Davey, we go with LSU WR Josh Reed, who finished with 186 yards and a TD on 10 receptions, his 10th 100-yard game of the year. |
