| Certainly not by halftime, when most of these teams' encounters have been decided in years past. In fact, Iowa State held a 14-13 lead after 30 minutes. But alas, the Huskers rolled to five second-half TDs to take command by the end of the third quarter. |
Eric Crouch, who was nearly flawless in the second half and shook off a second-quarter interception that was returned for a Cyclones TD. Crouch completed all three of his pass attempts for 53 yards, while also rushing for 79 yards in the half to lead Nebraska on four of its final five scoring drives.
