Vick Breaking it down: After being sacked eight times for minus-60 yards, he provided the clincher via a 55-yard specialty to turn back a Syracuse team hell bent on avenging last year's 62-0 pasting by the Hokies. On a day when nobody distiguished themselves to voters, Vick turned in the day's best highlight. Crouch Breaking it down: Quit pitching the ball, Eric! While his backfield mate went over 100 yards -- many coming after gathering the toss on the option -- the Heisman hopeful was quiet in just a quarter of work. Unselfish to a fault? Perhaps. But next week's showdown will say enough about his worth -- both to voters and the Huskers' national championship hopes. DREW BREES -- PURDUE

Brees Breaking it down: A day against Wisconsin usually means 400-plus yards ... in a loss. This time, Brees came out of Madison with fewer yards, but a victory and the Rose Bowl still within reach. We think he'll take the tradeoff come January. JOSH HEUPEL -- OKLAHOMA

Heupel Breaking it down: OK, we're starting to believe the Heupel as well. And why not? The fourth-ranked Sooners are unbeaten heading into their showdown with No. 1 Nebraska this week mainly because of their quarterback, who leads the nation in completion percentage (68.5) and has run for five TDs. WOODROW DANTZLER -- CLEMSON

If injury lingers, he'll be left behind quickly by others on this list.
