ESPN.com

Well, our voters have declared a winner and now we'll wait to see if the Downtown Athletic Club agrees.

Florida State's Chris Weinke earned six of the nine first place votes and earned 42 of a possible 45 points to win ESPN.com's Heisman Poll. Weinke completed 61 percent of his passed for 4,167 yards, 33 TDs and 11 interceptions.

Oklahoma's Josh Heupel earned two first place votes and finished second with 34 points. While the No. 1 Sooners are undefeated thanks in part to Heupel, he slipped in the final few weeks. Heupel completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,392 yards, 20 TDs and 14 interceptions.

Purdue's Drew Brees earned the final final first place vote and finished third with 17 points after throwing for over 3,330 yards and 24 TDs. TCU's LaDainian Tomlinson placed fourth with 17 points after rushing for 2,158 yards and 22 TDs.

The Heisman Poll features nine ESPN coaches, analysts and writers, and will appear weekly during the season. Panelists are asked to vote for their top five and players are awarded five points for a first-place vote, four for second and so on down the line.
