FSU looks to continue domination over Duke

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Sept. 29) -- The top ranked Florida State Seminoles (4-0) practiced in shells for more than two hours today in preparation for Saturday's game against the Duke Blue Devils (0-3). The game will be played in Jacksonville, Fla., at Alltel Stadium with kickoff scheduled for noon ET.

"We have had two good days of practice in the sun," said head coach Bobby Bowden. "They did better today than yesterday. They didn't look bad yesterday, but you could just tell that it bothered them more yesterday than today."

In preparation for Duke, the team spent most of the afternoon working against the scout teams. When they did go against each other in 11-on-11 drills, there was one noticeable change. Senior cornerback Mario Edwards was back working with the first team after being replaced by junior cornerback Clevan Thomas in the starting lineup against North Carolina.

Highlights from the 11-on-11 session included an interception by senior cornerback Reggie Durden and placekicker Sebastian Janikowski's 54-yard field goal.

Coach Bowden announced that redshirt freshman Rian Cason will be suspended for the Duke game this Saturday. With All-American Corey Simon nursing a groin injury and Cason's suspension, that will most likely mean more playing time for backup defensive tackles Chris Woods, Tony Benford and Randy Wilkins.

Injury report: DT Chris Woods sat out with heat cramps and DT Corey Simon missed practice with a sore groin.
