Louisiana Tech's Troy Edwards put his name in the record book with four touchdowns against Arkansas State, giving him 27 for the season. That set the Division I receiving record, two better than the 25 caught by
Marshall's Randy Moss last year. It also tied Jerry Rice for the all-division record.

Emporia State's Brian Shay became college football's career scoring leader, running for 161 yards and four touchdowns in a
34-14 victory over Missouri-Rolla. Shay, who also holds
all-division records for rushing and all-purpose yards, has 532
career points, breaking the previous record of 528. |

Augsburg's Scott Hvistendahl caught 14 passes for 246 yards to break the NCAA Division III career receiving yardage record.
Hvistendahl has 4,466 yards, 227 short of the NCAA all-divisions
record set by Jerry Rice of Mississippi Valley State from 1981-84. Sounds like that Rice character was pretty good.

Kentucky's Tim Couch completed 35 of 45 passes for 338 yards and two TDs in a
37-35 victory over Mississippi State, setting an NCAA record for most
completions over two seasons. Couch passed David Klingler's mark of 652
set at Houston in 1990-91. Couch finished the night with 684. |

Sioux Falls' David Ruter ran for two touchdowns in a 28-10 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan to break the NAIA's all-time career
scoring record. Ruter, who has 468 points, eclipsed Walter Payton's mark of 464. We heard he's pretty good too. |

Grove City's R.J. Bowers, who needed 275 yards to set a Division III season rushing record, tore ligaments in his left ankle in a
34-31 loss to Muhlenberg. Bowers, who rushed for 172 yards,
