Dark day in Pullman Washington State's fall from last season's dream team is just about complete. Oregon snapped the Cougars' eight-game home winning streak in rough fashion, mustering over 500 yards of offense in a 51-29 win while holding Washington State to just six yards of offense in the first quarter. Oregon is 5-0 for the first time since 1964.
COMEBACK KIDS
Short memories No. 20 USC came back from a 22-point deficit against Arizona State last week. So when Cal started to cut into a 21-point deficit against the Trojans on Saturday, think any bells went off? The Golden Bears capitalized on two big USC mistakes to pull a 32-31 upset victory.
HAIL TO THE CHIEF
Air Force 49, Navy 7 The Air Force Academy took its first step toward retaining the coveted Commander-in-Chief Trophy by whitewashing Navy. The 5-1 Falcons can seal their 11th trophy in the last 16 years with a win at Army on Nov. 7.

Purdue's sophomore quarterback put his name in the record books twice, tying an NCAA record with 55 completions and setting another with 83 passing attempts. Brees finished with 494 yards passing, but couldn't pull off the upset as No. 10 Wisconsin survived the aerial assault 31-24.
Jerry Azumah
New Hampshire
Became the first back in NCAA Division I-AA history to run for more than 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons. He had 165 yards and one touchdown in a 22-13 loss to Richmond, and now is 374 yards away from breaking the I-AA career rushing mark of 5,415 set last year by Siena's Reggie Greene.

Utah State coach Dave Arslanian, after his team was sacked 13 times and was called for 19 penalties in a 53-12 loss to Washington. "I must be a lousy football coach. I've never seen that bad of a performance. I apologize, especially to the Huskies, for being the inept opponent we were today."
