Brown arrested on suspicion of DUI

Associated Press

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska kicker Josh Brown was suspended Tuesday from playing against Colorado (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today, No. 13 AP) on Friday.

Brown was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Sunday in Omaha.

"It is a tough situation that he has put himself in and this team in,'' coach Frank Solich said. "I am very disappointed in what transpired. He will sit out this weekend.''

A replacement was not named, but backup kicker Sandro DeAngelis is out for the season with a foot injury. That leaves junior walk-on Dale Endorf as a possible replacement.

Brown kicked a 29-yard field goal as the clock ran out to give Nebraska a 34-32 win over Colorado in the final game of the 2000 season.

He also was suspended at the start of last season after he was convicted of misdemeanor assault after fighting with another student who was out with his ex-girlfriend.
