Former Nittany Lion says he only questioned officials

ESPN.com news services

Former Penn State linebacker LaVar Arrington denied being ejected from the sideline by an official during Iowa's 42-35 overtime victory over the Nittany Lions on Saturday, he told the Washington Post.

Arrington, who plays for the Washington Redskins, told the newspaper in a story published Tuesday that he did loudly question calls before leaving in the middle of the game, played in State College, Pa.

"I didn't get ejected. I walked off," Arrington told the Post after Monday's Redskins practice. "But the guy, he had very little respect. And that's what it was. That's all. I wasn't harassing the guy all game or anything. I asked him one time, was he watching the game? And that was it."

Arrington was an All-American at Penn State. He was the second pick in the 2000 NFL draft, right behind teammate Courtney Brown.
