Buffs' tailbacks likely won't practice before game

Associated Press

BOULDER, Colo. -- The Colorado Buffaloes' top two tailbacks likely won't practice until they get to San Antonio next week to prepare for the Alamo Bowl.

Chris Brown is out with a bruised sternum and Bobby Purify has an ankle sprain.

Colorado coach Gary Barnett said the two are headed for another week of rest and recuperation.

The Buffs meet Wisconsin on Dec. 28 at the Alamodome.

Brown has not played since being injured Nov. 16 against Iowa State, while Purify saw only late-duty action in the Buffs' Big 12 Conference championship loss to Oklahoma last weekend. Barnett said earlier this week that both were questionable for the Alamo Bowl.
