Turner out because of 'personal reasons'

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech will not have freshman
linebacker Marquis Turner for the galleryfurniture.com bowl and
the 2001 season.
The freshman linebacker has
taken time off from football for personal reasons. The school did not elaborate.
Turner will not play in the bowl game Dec. 27 in Houston.
Turner had five tackles for the Red Raiders this season. Most of
his playing time was as a special teams player. Turner was a
regular on the punting and kicking teams.
