with Rod Gilmore

LSU didn't protect Josh Booty and they had big problems. But the Tigers were able to make key adjustments at halftime. They got Rohan Davey in at quarterback and Brandon Winey in at the right tackle spot. They also went to quick passes to negate Georgia Tech's rush. Davey absolutely inspired his team. If people don't think that players care about the bowl games they need only watch Rohan Davey and the effect he had on his teammates in this game. He inspired everyone on his squad to get going. On the other side, the Yellow Jackets clearly missed Ralph Friedgen. Not so much for his play calling, but for the ability to settle down his young quarterback and get things going. They were never able to get George Godsey untracked in the second half when things were going bad. Friedgen's presence would have made a difference.

IT WAS OVER WHEN
When LSU quarterback Rohan Davey jogged on the field in the second half. Davey, replacing starter Josh Booty, threw three TD passes as the Tigers scored 25 unanswered points to knock off Tech.
GAME BALL GOES TO
Hmmm...could it be Rohan Davey? All the guy did was spark a lifeless offense to throw up 25 second half points. An honorable mention to offensive tackle Brandon Winey, who suited up in the second half after being in street clothes in the first half with a wrist injury.
