Cowan, who finished with 193 yards on 18 carries, scored first on a 51-yard burst midway through the first quarter. He added two more touchdowns on runs of 25 yards and 28 yards, respectively.

Sacred Heart (2-9) forced four Peacock turnovers and scored first on a safety when St. Peter's quarterback Patrick holland was tackled in the end zone.

The Pioneer offense, meanwhile, racked up a season-high 282 yards, including 244 on the ground.

The Peacocks (1-9) trailed 16-0 at the half but finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when Terrence Murphy scored on a 2-yard run, capping a 61-yard drive.

But Steve Ladd then hit Bill Hardt on an 18-yard touchdown pass and Cowan ran for two scores as the Pioneers pulled away.
