WASHINGTON (AP) _ Donte Small rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns as Duquesne moved within one game of clinching the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title Saturday with a 33-21 victory over Georgetown.

The Dukes (6-3, 5-1 in MAAC) can wrap up their third conference crown in five years with a victory in their final league game against Canisius on Nov. 20.

Georgetown (7-2, 4-1) got three touchdown passes by J.J. Mont but dropped its first MAAC game and had a two-game winning streak snapped.

Duquesne quarterback Tony Zimmerman shredded the Hoyas defense for 289 yards on 18-of-30 passing, exploiting blown defensive coverages on long pass plays. But it was backup quarterback Jerry Troop who put the Dukes ahead to stay in the third period.

Mont twice connected with Gharun Hester on TD passes of 15 and 34 yards for a 14-7 Georgetown lead. Then Zimmerman tied the score on a 1-yard TD run with 26 seconds left in the first half.

Troop, inserted into the game when Zimmerman was briefly injured in the third quarter, made the most of his three plays. He completed a 50-yard sideline pass to Jeremy Conley to move Duquesne to the Georgetown 1-yard line. After Josh Rue was stopped for no gain, Troop snuck into the end zone for a 20-14 lead with 2:16 left in the quarter.

Small, who carried 36 times, scored on a 3-yard run 3:14 into the fourth quarter. His sixth touchdown of the season extended Duquesne's lead to 26-14.

After Mont connected with Rob Belli on a 16-yard TD pass with 9:14 left in the game, Zimmerman clinched the win with 2:30 remaining on a 17-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Foster.

With 117 yards on eight catches and two games left, Foster is within 11 yards of becoming the Dukes' first 1,000-yard receiver.

Mont completed 14 of 27 passes for 314 yards. Hester had eight receptions for 201 yards.
