JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Special teams blunders contributed heavily to Jacksonville's 34-14 loss Saturday to Drake.

Three consecutive Dolphins miscues in the second quarter led to 17 points for the Bulldogs. Two of the plays came on bad snaps on successive punt attempts.

The first was a low snap that forced punter Brett Keener to scramble. When he attempted a pass, he fumbled and the ball was scooped up by Norbert Maryniak in the end zone for a 7-0 Drake lead.

On Jacksonville's next possession, the ball was snapped over Keener's head and out of the end zone for a safety. On the ensuing free kick, the Dolphins (3-4) allowed Grant Pohlmann to return it 83 yards for a touchdown. That gave Drake a 17-0 lead.

Trailing 27-0, the Dolphins finally got on the board when Ricardo Tillman caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Greg Kannapel.

Phil Joseph led Drake (7-3) with 64 yards on 10 carries.

Brent Alexander had 75 yards on 20 rushes for the Dolphins.
