STATE UNIVERSITY, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Backup quarterback Cleo Lemon connected with J.J. Washington on a 26-yard touchdown pass with 19 seconds remaining, giving Arkansas State a 31-27 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette.

Arkansas State held a 24-14 lead entering the fourth quarter. But quarterback Derek Dyer ran one yard for a score and found Desmond Williams with a 14-yard TD pass with 61 seconds to play, putting Louisiana-Lafayette in front.

Lemon completed 4-of-7 passes for 62 yards and was able to lead the Indians (3-6) downfield for the winning points. Starter Andy Shatley completed 12-of-22 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns.

Shatley found Jamie Hickenbotham with a 35-yard TD pass and Jacquis Walker plunged over from one yard in the first quarter, helping Arkansas State open a 17-7 lead.

The teams traded TDS in the second quarter with John Bernard going in from two yards for the Ragin' Cajuns and Shatley finding Robert Kilow with an 18-yard scoring strike.

Dyer was 17-of-31 passes for 212 yards and interception. He also rushed for 49 yards on 19 attempts.

Louisiana-Lafayette (1-8) suffered its fifth straight loss.
