SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Aaron Overton scored two touchdowns and Pete Sylvester added a pair of short touchdown runs to lead Drake to a 41-20 victory over San Diego on Saturday night.

Overton put Drake (6-3, 2-2 Pioneer Football League) ahead with a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter. The freshman wide receiver scored on a 25-yard pass from Ira Vandever early in the fourth quarter to give the Bulldogs a 34-20 lead.

Sylvester scored on runs of 2 and 5 yards, the latter coming midway through the third quarter to put Drake ahead for good at 20-17.

The Bulldogs gained 441 yards in total offense, 215 coming on the ground. Phil Joseph gained 110 yards on 16 carries. Vandever completed 11 of 14 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown.

San Diego (3-5, 1-3 PFL) took a 17-13 halftime lead on Tom Jackson's 5-yard TD pass to Dylan Ching with only six seconds left in the half. Ching finished with six catches for 125 yards.

The Toreros also scored on Oscar Arzu's 33-yard run and recorded two points after Billy Cundiff's extra-point kick was blocked and picked up by Wade Van Dusen, who returned it the length of the field for two points.

Drake pulled away in the second half, scoring on runs of 1 yard by LaRon McKinnis and a 16-yarder by Joseph.

The Toreros' only points of the second half came on Dylan Mora's 24-yard field goal.
