JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) _ Slade Nagle threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Redmond in the second overtime, lifting McNeese State to a 39-36 win over Jacksonville State Saturday.

McNeese State (2-4, 1-1 Southland Football League) held Jacksonville State (1-5, 0-3) to a 40-yard Brad Hopkins field goal to open the second overtime.

The Cowboys tied the score on Shonz LaFrenz's 39-yard field goal with no time left in the fourth quarter. Jacksonville State had taken a 26-23 lead on Reggie Stancil's 15-yard TD pass to Cedric Allen with 30 seconds left, capping a nine-play, 80-yard drive.

Nagle set up the tying score with a 38-yard pass to Pat Matthews down to the Gamecock 27.

Nagle completed 12-of-14 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Cowboys back from a 19-6 halftime deficit. Aaron Pierce rushed 38 times for 161 yards and a score.

Stancil, who re-entered the game in the fourth after leaving with bruised ribs, went 10-of-19 for 181 yards and two scores. He was intercepted once.

Joey Hamilton caught seven passes for 93 yards.
