NEWARK, Del. (AP) _ Quarterback Phil Stambaugh passed for 410 yards and three touchdowns as Lehigh defeated Delaware 42-35 on Saturday. The non-league victory extended Lehigh's win streak to 18 games, the longest streak in regular season in NCAA Division I football. Lehigh (6-0) piled up 492 yards and scored in every quarter as Stambaugh, the nation's No. 2 ranked passer, connected on 26 of 41 passes and 410 yards. Wide receiver Rick Moore caught nine passes for a career-high 224 yards and two touchdowns while tailback Ron Jean ran for 116 yards and two scores. Delaware's Matt Nagy hit on 16 of 29 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns, including a 43-yard pass to halfback Butter Pressey that cut the lead to 42-35 with 1:26 left to play. Lehigh then ran out the clock for the win. Lehigh, the defending Patriot League champions and a 1998 NCAA quarterfinalist, took a 21-14 halftime lead and made it 35-14 on a six-yard scoring toss from Stambaugh to Moore with 8:21 left in the third quarter. But the Hens rallied as Pressey scored on a one-yard dive and Nagy hit Jamin Elliott on an 11-yard scoring toss with 13:04 left in the game to cut the lead to 35-28. Just when Delaware (4-2) had some momentum, Sam Perryman blocked Ryan Bleiler's punt at the Delaware 8-yard line and Avon Mack recovered the fumble in the end zone to increase the Mountain Hawk lead to 42-28 with 10:21 left.
