FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ Ralph Menendez ran for three touchdowns Saturday as Stony Brook jumped out to a 45-0 lead and went on to post a 48-21 North East Conference victory over Sacred Heart.

Menendez ran for 207 yards on 15 carries, including touchdown runs of 41 and 74 yards in the first quarter as Stony Brook (2-2,2-2) dominated the first three quarters.

Sacred Heart (1-5,1-2) trailed 35-0 at the half. The Pioneers finally got on the scoreboard with two seconds remaining in the third period on Kiheme Cowan's three-yard run. Cowan scored again in the final period on a 15-yard pass from Steve Ladd.

Stony Brook piled up 337 yards rushing and 117 in the air, while Sacred Heart managed just 217 yards, overall.
