TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) _ Tavares Bolden and Dan Cole each threw two touchdown passes and Toledo beat Kent 47-7 Saturday night. Bolden, who usually comes off the bench in the quarterback platoon, started and hit Lyle Green from 6 yards out to give the Rockets (3-2, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) a 14-0 lead with 9:21 left in the first quarter. Cole threw a 22-yard TD pass to Manny Johnson in the second quarter, and Bolden added a 9-yard pass to Mel Long as Toledo built a 38-0 halftime lead. Bolden was 14-of-20 for 164 yards, while Cole, who added a 32-yard scoring pass to Carl Ford in the fourth quarter, was 5-of-6 for 95 yards. Kent (1-5, 1-2) was held to 199 yards, including 69 yards rushing on 39 carries. Jose Davis was 12-of-18 for 100 yards, including a 22-yard scoring pass to Matt Curry in the third quarter. Antwon McCray rushed 18 times for 110 yards for Toledo. Chester Taylor and Will Bratton each had 7-yard TD runs.
