AMHERST, N.Y. (AP) _ Eric Flowers rushed for 219 yards and four touchdowns as Central Michigan beat winless Buffalo 38-19 to snap a four-game losing streak Saturday.

Central Michigan (2-4, 1-2) won its first game this season in the Mid-American Conference after losses to Miami of Ohio and Western Michigan.

Buffalo's Derrick Gordon rushed for 124 yards and scored three times in the fourth quarter on runs of 24, 6 and 2 yards, but the Bulls (0-5, 0-4) still lost their ninth straight.

Flowers rushed for 133 yards in the first half and scored two touchdowns in the second quarter as Central Michigan opened a 14-0 halftime lead.

Flowers scored Central's first touchdown on a 6-yard run. The Chippewas kept that drive going late in the first quarter when Jake Kemp faked a field goal on fourth-and-6 at the Buffalo 23 and ran 8 yards.

Wayne Dudley set up the second touchdown when he picked off a pass by Joe Freedy and returned it 19 yards to the Buffalo 13. Three plays later, Flowers ran it in from the 9.

Paul Savage added a 39-yard field goal for the Chippewas early in the third quarter for a 17-0 lead.

Flowers scored his third touchdown on a 9-yard run with 3:29 left in the third. Shepherd threw 47 yards to Jammarl O'Neal to the Buffalo 11.
